As Mothers we all have faced that inevitable “mom guilt” this leaves us feeling anxious, guilty, or inadequate about our decisions or abilities. What if we could survive and conquer that mom guilt? Well I’m here to help you do exactly that, by sharing tips that I have learned that you can use.

Recognize & Accept Emotions

  • Acknowledge your feelings. Recognize they are normal and Valid.
  • Practice self compassion: Treat yourself with understanding, kindess & patience

Reframe Negative Thoughts

  • Refocus negative self talk: Replace critical inner voices with positive affirmations.
  • Focus on the present: Sitting in the past keeps us stuck there, no sense in leaving head space for the things we can not change, or things that no longer serve us.

Prioritize Self Care

  • Take Breaks: Make time for you to do the things that nourish your mind, body & soul
  • Seek Support: Connecting with friends, family, or even a therapist can be beneficial for guidance and emotional support.

Set Realistic Expectations

  • Let go of perfectionism: nobody is perfect and mistakes are apart of what makes us human
  • Focus on progress: Celebrate small victories and acknowledge your effort

Practice Mindfulness & Gratitude

  • Mindfulness: Focus on the present moment, without judgement
  • Gratitude: Reflect on the things you are thankful for, no matter how small they may seem
  • Celebrate successes and acknowledge all your accomplishments
  • Acknowledge the positive impact you have in your children’s life
  • Focus on your values: Remember values and principles that guide your parenting decisions.

Beating mom guilt is a journey that will take time, patience and self compassion. Remember to be gentle with yourself, and don’t ever hesitate to reach out for support. You are worth it!
